OLYMPIC point for ploughs, new generation

To start your ploughing season with peace of mind without having to worry about changing your points and the quality of soil penetration, the new OLYMPIC point will meet all your requirements.

A new design for new performances

Launched in 2024, the new generation of OLYMPIC points has been designed to increase its performance and endurance by 30% compared with the previous version. Maintaining its profile over time is one of its key advantages for quality ploughing and creating a homogeneous base for planting the next crop.

New OLYMPIC points

The new point design, which features thicker material in the most exposed areas, maximises its performance:

  • Mass: 17% more
  • Recommended retail price: 6% higher
  • Service life: 30% longer

Comparison old / new OLYMPIC point

KUHN has carried out various wear tests in Europe to test the durability of the new OLYMPIC point and compare it with the old generation.

Working context

To carry out its tests, KUHN equipped the same plough with two models of point. The new OLYMPIC point was mounted on the right side and the old generation OLYMPIC was mounted on the left side. Therefore, the parts evolved under the same conditions and ploughing times.

Here is a more detailed description of the study environment:

  • Denmark, September 2023
  • MF8480 - 315 hp - 7.5 km/h
  • VM 153 – 5 bodies
  • Clay limestone
  • 90 hectares
Comparaison Old Olympic vs new Olympic

The old generation OLYMPIC point reached full wear after 90 ha, whereas the new OLYMPIC still had a wear reserve enabling it to extend work by 27 ha, so 30% more than the old point.

Conclusion

With a lifespan increased by 30%, the new OLYMPIC point guarantees you an original part, developed and dedicated specifically for KUHN ploughs.

Its improved shape and design increase the fluidity of the soil while reducing point wear, without requiring the tractor to use extra power.
