New DT KUHN subsoiler: deep restructuring & intensive mixing

Discover the new DT subsoiler. A robust, efficient solution for deep soil cultivation up to 60 cm, available in 3 or 4 metre widths.

The new DT KUHN subsoiler: pure efficiency!

With the DT, you can restructure your soil at depth and prepare the surface at the same time. With their high passage capacity and robust design, these new machines in the range perform well in all situations.

The DT range is ideal for pseudo-tillage work. The curved tines, arranged in 2 rows, ensure deep restructuring and intensive mixing. The DT loosener is a simple, robust and effective machine for deep soil cultivation, providing the best conditions for crop development.

What are the agronomic advantages of the DT subsoiler?

To work your soil at depths of up to 60cm, the new range of DT loosening subsoilers  is the robust, high-performance solution offered by KUHN.

Controlling soil compaction is essential for the success of future crops.

  • By effectively removing compacted layers, DT allows the soil to regain its porosity, improve aeration, encourage water infiltration and support the root development of future crops.
  • Stirring the soil at the surface facilitates the burial and rapid breakdown of crop residues into organic matter.
  • The possibility of incorporating chemical and organic amendments increases soil productivity. Yields are guaranteed by optimum root development in nutrient-rich soil.

How do I choose between a DT L or XL series subsoiler?

The DT range of subsoilers has been designed to meet the needs of every type of farm. It is available in two models: L and XL. Here are the essential elements to guide you in your choice.

DT L subsoiler for light soils

With a width of 3m, it is designed for light soils and tractors up to 230hp. It can work at depths of up to 50cm. The DT L has large underframe clearances (780mm in T and 870mm in NSH) and large distances between the two rows of tines (800mm in T and 850mm in NSH), ensuring blockage-free work even in the presence of residue.

DT XL subsoil loosener for heavy soils

Available in fixed versions 3 and 4m wide, they are suitable for heavy soils and high-powered tractors (up to 400hp).  Designed to descend to depths of up to 60cm, the DT XL models also offer high passage capacity thanks to their underframe clearances (920mm in T and 1000mm in NSH) and the distances between the two rows of tines (870mm in T and 1000mm in NSH).

Explosive finned leg: the centrepiece

The leg, available in T or NSH safety, is the machine's centrepiece. It is a 350mm wide finned explosive leg, equipped with a splitting triangle and a 70mm quick-fit tip, also available in a carbide version. The 2 rows of tines ensure deep cracking and efficient mixing of soil and surface residue.
With the traction bolt (T) mechanical safety option, peak power is 3550kg for the L tine and 4370kg for the XL tine. With Non Stop Hydraulic (NSH) safety, the trigger pressure can be adjusted between 165 and 190 bar, with a maximum power at the tip of 1190kg for the L tine and 1670kg for the XL tine.

How do you assess the quality of work of a subsoiler ?

Work efficiency is ensured by deep cracking and surface preparation in a single pass.

Mechanically or hydraulically folding side deflectors ensure that the soil flow is maintained, and the working depth can be controlled by infinitely variable hydraulic adjustment of the roller. After the tines have passed, the double roller crumbles and levels the surface soil. With its integrated roller bearings, levelling as close as possible to the surface is guaranteed, and the risk of vegetation wrapping around the bearings is avoided.

The roller's crumbling action encourages the next crop to take root, while its high reconsolidation helps to retain moisture in the soil. Spindle adjustment of the front roller's horizontality with the rear roller means that pressure can be increased on one of the two rollers, and working in stony conditions is made easier by the possibility of increasing the distance between the two rollers.

Adaptable to any situation, the DT subsoiler is robust and efficient for deep soil
restructuring and surface preparation.

The new DT subsoiler is the choice for pure performance and efficiency.
