Boost function for loading all types of fodder
The SPW Power loading milling head features a working width of 2 m. Its 120 hp and its large 682 mm diameter guarantee high performance when loading silage (maize silage: 2,400 kg/minute, grass silage: 1,200 kg/minute) but also with coarse fodder such as haylage, hay and straw.
When handling the most difficult products, the boost function can be activated by a simple push on the machine’s joystick control.
The two continuous coils on the milling head ensure that the product is guided towards the conveyor in optimum conditions to preserve all the roughage qualities of the silage.
The milling head downstroke control is exclusive to KUHN, it automatically adapts the milling head downstroke speed to the silage clamp according to the fodder density. In addition to respecting the roughage value of the fodder, this system guarantees a significant reduction in stress on the machine structures and protects all the hydraulic circuits.
Measuring the distance to the foot of the silage clamp is also exclusive to KUHN self-propelled mixers. Near the foot of the silage clamp, the conveyor downstroke speed is reduced for a positioning of the conveyor without any jerky movements. The silo floor, the entire structure of the machine milling head and the conveyor are protected.
The conveyor is designed with a rubber conveyor belt and feeds the fodder to the right-hand side of the tub. It is projected in the direction of the mixing flow (direction of rotation of the augers), therefore the mixing function does not compromise loading performance. Feed quality is improved.
The conveyor is positioned at the highest point of the tub, making it easy to load the fodder into the full tub. The fodder exits the conveyor at the top of the tub, allowing the entire mixing tub to be loaded.
