Perfect planting on contours

The pneumatic FLEX articulated precision seed drill has an articulated frame of 11 to 17 rows, which, combined with pneumatic metering, makes this machine ideal for planting in sloped or contoured fields, ensuring perfect planting and a uniform emergence.

The FLEX pneumatic precision seed drill performs very high quality planting, because it has 18° articulation range, a feature that allows for placing seeds at the right depth at the base of the contour, a region that usually presents planting failures with ordinary articulated machines. In addition, the articulation points of the FLEX precision seed drill frame are located at the bottom of the frame, closer to the ground, reducing variation in spacing between rows when the modules articulate, resulting in improved field stand and increased productivity. Moreover, the planting rows of the FLEX articulated pneumatic precision seed drill have systems capable of keeping seed singulation close to 100% and placement depth uniform, an ideal combination of factors for a perfect plant stand, regardless of relief.

Pneumatic metering system

The FLEX PNEUMATIC articulated precision seed drill has a precise, simple and ergonomically adjusted vacuum metering unit that doesn’t require the use of tools when switching crop kits, with everything occurring quickly. This is a concept that accompanies KUHN’s pneumatic line, because assembly and fixation of the metering unit is all done by means of quick fittings and closures. Another feature of the FLEX is the hydraulic motor for its vacuum fan which requires low oil flow, extending the range of compatible tractors. Thus, the combination of the KUHN pneumatic seed row with the articulated FLEX frame results in a precision seed drill capable of planting in contoured areas with excellent operational performance and distinctive quality in the plant stand.

Articulated frame and pneumatic row

The most efficient articulation system on the market, combined with KUHN’s pneumatic planting row with its high precision metering system and set of depth gauge wheels, capable of maintaining uniform seed placement depth. The PNEUMATIC FLEX articulated precision seed drill has the same articulation system as its mechanical distribution version. Its mechanisms are compact, light and feature great robustness and durability; unlike other competitors which have an axle extending from the front to the back of the frame. Another distinction of the PNEUMATIC FLEX is the position of the articulation system, which is located at the bottom of the frame, as close as possible to the ground. This concept ensures that, when planting, the variation in spacing between rows near the articulation is minimal - this characteristic is very important for an optimal plant stand in the field, especially in corn.

Robustness and durability with long service life

Innovative articulation limiter

The FLEX articulated precision seed drill was the first machine on the market with the innovative articulation limiting stop system. Developed by KUHN and later adapted by competitors on their machines, the system prevents articulation impacts from being transferred to the precision seed drill’s frame. A simple and robust system that extends the equipment’s service life, reducing the effort and impact on the frame when crossing contour lines or in rugged terrain. The FLEX PNEUMATIC articulated precision seed drill has the same system as its mechanical version, while also including the articulation locking system, aiding transport of the FLEX PNEUMATIC precision seed drill on trucks or platforms and letting the farmer choose to work with the fixed or articulated modules.
